The day I met Merinda
Well, we didn't actually meet, at least not formally. I think she hypnotized me or something. She wasn't even really there, she was truthfully just a picture. She was, oh my goodness this sounds like I need a straight jacket and a rubber room but if one is going to blog ones adventures one has to be truthful. She was a picture of an art doll, the caption said she was a fairy but she claims she is really an elf. It's not like I know the difference anyway so she may well be right. Of course the caption had a totally different name for her also. I remember admiring the picture, even kind of running my finger gently across it. The next thing I know she's talking to me. She pinned me with a rather accusing look and ask when I was going to start making dolls since I had been thinking about it for so long. I told her it was just a passing fancy, at which point she cleared her throat and pointed to shelf in the library with several copies of art doll quarterly and to some boxes containing things like polymer clay and doll eyes and then she mentioned many of the sites I have bookmarked on my computer that sell things connected to doll making. I finally had to confess that I found the entire idea a bit intimidating. I make teddy bears and wall hangings, those are, in their own way rather easy. Dolls on the other hand, are very specific and not at all easy. At least that seems to be my general impression.
